Ravens Rule Out Three Pro Bowlers for Sunday Night in Atlanta

By The Sports Nus Staff | October 10, 2026

The Baltimore Ravens will take the field on Sunday Night Football without their highest-paid players on both sides of the ball. The team officially ruled out quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle), center Cam Jurgens (concussion) and edge rusher Trey Hendrickson (finger) for the Week 5 primetime matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

Jackson sprained his ankle in the first half of last week's win over Tennessee and missed all three practices this week. Head coach Jesse Minter confirmed Friday that the two-time MVP will not play, calling it a stretch all week even as Jackson works to return. This is Jackson's fifth absence over the past two seasons. He has thrown for 967 yards, six touchdowns and one interception this year, adding 144 rushing yards.

Tyler Huntley will start at quarterback. Huntley briefly relieved Jackson last week, going 8-for-9 for 63 yards. He now faces a Falcons defense with Michael Penix Jr. back under center and Atlanta playing some of its best football of the season over the last two weeks.

Jurgens was acquired from Philadelphia earlier this week for two draft picks, including a 2028 second-rounder, but he was already in concussion protocol with the Eagles and was never really in the mix for Sunday. Minter said the hope is Jurgens is ready for Week 6 in Cleveland. Hendrickson misses his second straight game after a finger procedure; he has 82 sacks over ten NFL seasons.

There is some good news: wide receiver Zay Flowers (foot) and cornerback Marlon Humphrey (hamstring/calf) are questionable but both expected to play.

What it means

The 3-1 Ravens face a 2-2 Falcons team on Sunday night without their MVP quarterback, their brand-new starting center and their top edge rusher. Expect a heavy dose of Derrick Henry and a grind-it-out game plan from Huntley behind a shuffled offensive line. Kickoff is 8:20 p.m. ET Sunday in Atlanta.
