Role
Giddey is the engine of the Bulls offense and the team's starting point guard. At 6-7 he sees over defenses and hunts mismatches, and his 9 assists a night tell the story: Chicago's half-court offense runs through his reads. The jumper remains the swing skill. When it falls, he is a matchup nightmare. When it does not, defenses sag and dare him to shoot.
How he got here
Oklahoma City drafted Giddey sixth overall in 2021 out of Adelaide, Australia. Chicago acquired him in a trade on June 21, 2024 and locked him in with a multi-year re-signing on September 24, 2025, making him a Bull through at least 2029 before unrestricted free agency.
