Fantasy basketball draft war room with a glowing draft board, stat sheets and a laptop

The season tips off October 20, which means your draft is either this weekend or it already happened and you are second-guessing everything. Good. That is what this page is for. I am Kingston O'Neal, and fantasy is my desk now. This is season-long fantasy across the whole league, all 30 teams, updated every week, no favorites. No rankings copied off a cheat sheet. Here is who is underpriced, who is a trap, and who to add off the wire this week.

Injury Wire: Tuesday, October 27, 2026

Four games tonight: Brooklyn at Boston (7:30 PM ET), Detroit at New York (8:00 PM ET, NBC and Peacock), Sacramento at San Antonio (8:00 PM ET) and Portland at the Los Angeles Lakers (11:00 PM ET, NBC and Peacock). Every status below is checked against the league injury report and same-day reporting. Questionable means game-time decision. Plan your lineup like it means out until you hear otherwise.

The injury list making the rounds this morning holds up. Every name and status on it is confirmed, including the one that looked wrong: Isaiah Joe is a Detroit Piston, questionable tonight with a right hip contusion. Two updates since that list posted: Boston has now filed, with Devin Carter the only name on it, and Portland also lists Branden Carlson as questionable.

Injury Wire
At New York Knicks

Jalen Duren: Out. Right hamstring strain. Re-evaluated in two weeks.

Read moreShow less

Ausar Thompson: Questionable. Right ankle sprain, suffered Friday against Miami. He sat out Sunday in Philadelphia. He fully participated in Tuesday's shootaround and is trending toward playing.

Isaiah Joe: Questionable. Right hip contusion. He took a hard fall Sunday, played four minutes and did not return. He was present at Tuesday's shootaround and is also trending toward playing.

Front Office ruling: Add Paul Reed. He starts while Duren is out and put up 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists on Friday. If you streamed him Sunday, hold him for tonight. Thompson and Joe both went through shootaround and are trending in, but neither changes the play: Duren is the absence that matters and Reed holds the middle until he is back.

Injury Wire
One name on the report

Jose Alvarado: Out. Left ankle sprain. He is the only Knick on the report.

Front Office ruling: Nothing. Backup guard minutes on a team still looking for its first win. No add, no stream, no move.

Injury Wire
At San Antonio Spurs

Keegan Murray: Out. Left ankle capsulitis. Re-evaluated in approximately 10 to 14 days. It is the same ankle he had surgically repaired in May.

Read moreShow less

Maxime Raynaud: Out. Right patellar subluxation. Re-evaluated in approximately two weeks.

Dylan Cardwell: Out. Left calf strain. Re-evaluated in approximately seven days.

Ben Simmons: Out. Recovering from right Achilles tendon surgery. Reporting around the team has his season over.

Front Office ruling: Add Precious Achiuwa. He started for Murray on Sunday and delivered 12 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and three blocks in 39 minutes, and Sacramento plays three games in Week 2. Domantas Sabonis managers can relax: with Raynaud and Cardwell both out, nothing threatens his minutes. Murray is a stash if your IL spot is open, and remember that a re-evaluation date is a check, not a return. Simmons is a drop in every format. Raynaud and Cardwell are deep league monitors only.

Injury Wire
Home vs Sacramento Kings

Tobias Harris: Out. Left calf strain. He missed the preseason and still has not made his Spurs debut.

Read moreShow less

Jayden Quaintance: Out. Right knee surgery.

Front Office ruling: Nothing. Harris has not played a minute for San Antonio yet, so there is no role to redistribute. File the names and move on.

Injury Wire
At Los Angeles Lakers

Shaedon Sharpe: Out. Right meniscus surgery. No return date on the report.

Read moreShow less

Scoot Henderson: Questionable. Left ankle soreness. He is a new name on the report today.

Branden Carlson: Questionable. Concussion protocol. He has been upgraded from out.

Front Office ruling: Monitor. Henderson is a game-time call in the late game, so if he is in your lineup, have a pivot ready before the early games lock. Do not make a speculative add behind him, because there is no verified name waiting on those minutes. Sharpe stays a stash only in deep leagues with a free IL spot. There is no timeline to plan around.

Injury Wire
Home vs Portland Trail Blazers

Adou Thiero: Out. Left knee effusion and swelling.

Read moreShow less

Cameron Carr: Out. Right oblique strain. The Lakers assigned him to their G League affiliate on Monday night.

Walker Kessler: Available. He is playing with a splint on his left finger and has not missed a game.

Front Office ruling: Nothing. Nothing on the outs, both are end-of-bench names. The only Lakers note that matters is Kessler: he plays, so start him like you normally would.

Injury Wire
At Boston Celtics

No standard contract names on the report. Mikel Brown Jr. is back after sitting Sunday for workload management. The listed outs are two-way and G League assignments.

Read moreShow less

Front Office ruling: Nothing. Brooklyn is the healthiest team on the slate, for whatever that is worth at 0-3.

Injury Wire
Home vs Brooklyn Nets

Devin Carter: Out. Mononucleosis. Boston filed late, after the morning lists had them as yet to submit, and Carter is the only name on their report. Reporting has him out indefinitely with an estimated return in early November.

Read moreShow less

Front Office ruling: Nothing. A deep bench guard on the second night of a back-to-back. Boston's rotation is intact where it counts.

Plan Ahead
Plays Wednesday at Dallas

Jalen Williams: Out. Dislocated left ankle and a fractured fibula. Cason Wallace: Out. Torn labrum in his left shoulder. Both are headed for surgery and both are expected to miss several months, with Williams at risk of missing most or all of the season. Alex Caruso also sprained his right ankle on Monday, so the Thunder rotation is thin everywhere you look.

Read moreShow less

Front Office ruling: Stash Jalen Williams. If your IL spot is open and your league runs deep, Williams is the stash. Everywhere else, plan as if he is gone and let that roster spot work for you. Wallace is a drop in redraft.

Plan Ahead
Plays Wednesday at Toronto

Jalen Suggs: Out. Bone bruise in his right knee. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Read moreShow less

Front Office ruling: Add Anthony Black. Same as we told you yesterday. If he is still sitting on your wire, fix that before somebody else does.

Plan Ahead
Plays Wednesday vs San Antonio Spurs

Jaren Jackson Jr.: Out. Torn MCL in his right knee, suffered Monday against Memphis. Sidelined six to eight weeks, no surgery required.

Read moreShow less

Front Office ruling: Stash Jackson, stream Mo Bamba. Jackson goes in an IL spot if you have one. He is not a drop with no surgery on the table. Bamba took the center minutes on Monday and delivered 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks, and he is the stream for Wednesday against San Antonio. Lauri Markkanen also left Monday's game with a right wrist injury and went through Tuesday imaging, with no timeline announced yet.

Plan Ahead
Next plays Wednesday vs Golden State Warriors

Anthony Edwards: Out. Arthroscopic procedure on his right knee. Expected to miss up to two months, per ESPN reporting.

Read moreShow less

The ruling: Stash Edwards, add Ayo Dosunmu, stream Terrence Shannon Jr. Edwards is not a drop in standard formats with an IL spot. Dosunmu is the expected starter, Shannon delivered 14 points and 5 assists off the bench on Monday, and LaMelo Ball's usage climbs with Edwards out.

Shootaround update: Ausar Thompson was a full participant for Detroit on Tuesday and Isaiah Joe was out there with him, so both are trending toward playing tonight. The questionable names still to watch before lock are Henderson and Carlson in Los Angeles.

Afternoon update, October 27: Jaren Jackson Jr. has a torn MCL in his right knee and is out six to eight weeks with no surgery required, per ESPN reporting. The Utah card above carries the ruling, and the full breakdown is in today's Jackson article.

Evening update, October 27: Anthony Edwards will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee and miss up to two months, per ESPN reporting. The Minnesota card above carries the ruling, and the full breakdown is in today's Edwards article.

Last Night's Breakouts: Thursday, October 29

Breakout
Darius Acuff Jr., Kings
34 points and 14 assists in a 132-120 loss at New Orleans

18 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in a 124-103 win at Portland, his first career triple-double

24 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in a 124-103 loss to Memphis

Watch. Watch him, with upside attached to Portland's injury report. Ja Morant left in the fourth quarter with a left hamstring injury, and Avdija's usage climbs if Morant misses time.

Read moreShow less

Morant scored 14 points against his former team before leaving. Do not overstate the opening until Portland makes the status official.

Last Night's Breakouts: Wednesday, October 28

Twelve games Wednesday, and the wire names start with a rookie producing next to a legend. One line per player, with the call.

Breakout
Yaxel Lendeborg, Warriors

Breakout
Jonathan Kuminga, Timberwolves
20 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists in a 119-114 loss to Golden State, leading Minnesota in scoring

Add if available. Add him if he is free. Leading the team in scoring in the first game without Anthony Edwards is a role, not a revenge-game line.

Read moreShow less

Edwards is out up to two months after knee surgery. Kuminga led Minnesota against his former team, and the shots Edwards leaves behind have to go somewhere.

Breakout
Terrence Shannon Jr., Timberwolves
19 points off the bench in a 119-114 loss to Golden State

Stream. Stream him while Edwards is out. Bench wings get the first crack at those shots.

Read moreShow less

Read moreShow less

Wilson did it again after his 30-point, 14-rebound home debut. Seven Bulls finished in double figures and Chicago still lost, but Wilson's line fills categories either way.

Breakout
Jalen Smith, Bulls
17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks with no turnovers in a 133-127 loss to New York

Add. Add him. A double-double with dimes and blocks and clean ball security is a category filler.

Read moreShow less

Smith shot 7-of-12 from the field. Chicago shot a season-best 42.9 percent from three and still lost, but Smith's line holds up on its own.

Breakout
Tyler Kolek, Knicks
9 points, 9 assists and no turnovers off the bench in a 133-127 win at Chicago

Watch / Stream. Watch him, and stream him if coach Mike Brown keeps riding him. Assists with threes and no turnovers is a real bench role.

Breakout
Jordan Clarkson, Knicks
18 points in 16.8 minutes on 7-of-11 shooting with no turnovers in a 133-127 win at Chicago

Stream. Stream him for instant offense. The minutes depend on Bridges' status, but 18 points in under 17 minutes is a bench spark.

Read moreShow less

Clarkson was a game-best plus-15. He closed the comeback with Kolek and Landry Shamet while Bridges sat the second half.

Breakout
Landry Shamet, Knicks
14 points off the bench in a 133-127 win at Chicago, including the go-ahead three with 6:26 left

Breakout
Anfernee Simons, 76ers
20 points off the bench with 6 threes in a 114-109 win at Indiana

11 points and 12 rebounds off the bench in a 104-91 loss to Denver

Watch. Watch him. A double-double bench big on an 0-4 team, with Jordan Poole's ankle status now in question.

Read moreShow less

Queen was the only Pelican besides Zion Williamson to reach double figures. Poole left Wednesday's game early with an ankle injury, which could shuffle minutes.

Watch. Watch him. A career night in a loss is a watch, not an add, until his role and usage next game decide it.

Breakout
Chet Holmgren, Thunder
12 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks on 5 of 9 in the win over Denver

Add. Add him blind if he is somehow available. Seventeen boards and four blocks is the category-warping shape.

Read moreShow less

This is the line the big outlets are chasing this morning. If your league has a short bench, this is the week to find the seat.

Breakout
VJ Edgecombe, 76ers
11 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals in the 114-106 comeback over Cleveland

Watch. Watch the role in the comeback rotation. A rookie filling four columns in a win like that earns more trust.

Read moreShow less

Edgecombe was plus-19 in a game Philadelphia had to steal. Multi-category rookies on winning teams do not stay deep-league secrets.

Breakout
Tyrese Maxey, 76ers
32 points on 12 of 23 with 6 assists and 2 steals, plus-19 in the comeback

Hold. Owned everywhere, so the note is the shape: this is the ceiling game. Build around him like it.

Read moreShow less

Maxey attacked the whole second half while the Sixers ripped off 69-37. When a star plays like this with Embiid and LeBron and Brown beside him, the ceiling is real.

Breakout
Jalen Williams, Thunder
21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, leading all scorers in the win over Denver

Hold. The takeaway is the role: Williams led the scoring while Shai went 6 of 19, and the Thunder still won by 12.

Read moreShow less

When the second star carries the offense on the first star's off night, that is a real partnership. The usage is safe.

Breakout
Aaron Gordon, Nuggets
20 points, 6 rebounds on 6 of 9 with 3 of 4 from three in the loss at Oklahoma City

Watch. Watch the three ball. Gordon at 3 of 4 from deep changes his category profile if the volume holds.

Read moreShow less

On a night Jokic went 5 of 19 and Murray went 2 of 11, Gordon was Denver's best player. If the threes are a role and not a night, he moves up a tier.

Breakout
Evan Mobley, Cavaliers
18 points and 8 rebounds on 7 of 13 in the loss at Philadelphia

Watch. Watch the efficiency. Mobley stayed productive while the backcourt coughed it up 11 times around him.

Read moreShow less

Mitchell and Harden combined for 11 turnovers and Mobley still posted his line. Floors like that survive bad nights from teammates.

Last Night's Breakouts: Wednesday, October 21

Wednesday was the season's first full slate, and the lines were loud. One line per player, with the call.

Breakout
Ty Jerome, Grizzlies
Career high 45 points in a 123-103 win over Utah, a franchise opener record

Add. Add him in every format where he is still available. He is the starting point guard in Memphis with the ball in his hands.

Read moreShow less

Jerome broke the Grizzlies opener record of 44 that Ja Morant held. Starting guards who own an offense do not sit on wires past the first morning.

Breakout
Walker Kessler, Lakers
26 points on a perfect 12 of 12 shooting with 10 dunks against Golden State

Add. Add and hold. The field goal percentage, rebounds and blocks shape wins three categories at once.

Read moreShow less

Kessler joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only Lakers perfect on 12 or more attempts, and his 10 dunks were the most by a Laker since Shaquille O'Neal in 2003. Next to Doncic, the finishes are not going away.

Breakout
Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Hawks
31 points with two clutch threes late in a 132-125 win at Orlando

Watch. Watch the closing role for one more game, then move before the league does.

Read moreShow less

Alexander-Walker closed a road win over a good Magic team. Wings who close in October tend to keep closing, and the minutes follow the trust.

Breakout
Paolo Banchero, Magic
35 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists in the loss to Atlanta

Watch. Watch the assist shape. A forward running the offense at this volume changes his whole category profile.

Read moreShow less

Banchero was the best Magic player on a losing night. If the 10 assists are a role and not a night, his value jumps a full tier.

Breakout
Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves
45 points and 10 rebounds on 16 of 29 and 9 of 17 from three at Miami

Stream. Stream is the wrong word for a star, so read it as this: his nine threes in an opener set the tone for every build around him.

Read moreShow less

Edwards is the third player ever with multiple 40 point openers. The three point volume is the fantasy story, because nine made threes swing a week by themselves.

Breakout
Alperen Sengun, Rockets
23 points and 10 rebounds in a 128-110 win over Dallas, with Durant and Smith at 30 each

Watch. Watch the share. Houston has three 30 point threats and Sengun still posted his double double.

Read moreShow less

On a night Kevin Durant and Jabari Smith both scored 30, Sengun kept his line. That is a center whose floor survives hot teammates.

Schedule Watch: Week of October 30

Friday, October 30 is a 10-game NBA Cup night, and every game counts for the standings and the Cup. No team is on a back-to-back Friday, per the slate. Saturday brings 7 games, including Portland at Utah at 3:00 PM CT, and Portland's injury report is the check before the weekend: Ja Morant left Thursday's loss to Memphis with a left hamstring injury. Game 7 of the WNBA Finals tips Saturday at 7:00 PM CT in San Francisco, but that is a different league and a different lineup decision.

Schedule Watch: Week of October 29

Thursday, October 29 is a light 3-game NBA slate, and the sit risks are the story. Cleveland visits Atlanta at 7:00 PM CT on NBA TV, with the Hawks on a back-to-back after Wednesday's home loss to Miami and the start pushed back an hour so State Farm Arena could host the WNBA Finals matinee first. Sacramento visits New Orleans at 7:00 PM CT with both teams 0-4, and Memphis visits Portland at 9:00 PM CT with both teams unbeaten.

The sit risk to check first is New Orleans: Jordan Poole left Wednesday's loss to Denver early with an ankle injury, so check his status before locking any Pelican into the winless-versus-winless game. Atlanta is the back-to-back team, and the Hawks' rotation on the second night is the other check. Portland is without Shaedon Sharpe with a knee injury for the late game against Memphis.

Friday brings the NBA Cup opener: Philadelphia hosts New York in its Cup opener on October 30, and Miami hosts Indiana the same night. The Knicks just played Wednesday at Chicago and the 76ers just played Wednesday at Indiana, so neither Cup opener team is on a back-to-back, but both are on two days' rest after a road game. This update names only the verified Thursday slate and the Friday games listed here, so do not lock in a full-week games-per-team count from this update alone. Recheck the slate before Friday tip, and watch whether the Knicks stick with the bench trio that closed Wednesday's comeback.

Waiver Wire Watch: Week of October 26

Opening week is in the books and the wire already paid out. Seven adds across seven teams and every position group, all built on reported lines and real openings. No projections and no guessing.

Wire
Anthony Black, Magic
Guard, injury opening in Orlando

Black put up 18 points and 5 assists in his season debut Sunday at New York, the night Jalen Suggs left early with a right knee injury.

Read moreShow less

Shams Charania reported Monday that Suggs has a mild bone bruise in his right knee and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, with no other major structural damage. Black is the expected starter while Suggs is out, and Paolo Banchero is already sidelined with a high ankle sprain, so the minutes and the ball are there. Add him now.

Wire
Paul Reed, Pistons
Center, injury opening in Detroit

Reed put up 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in 26 minutes in Detroit's 128-111 win at Miami on Friday.

Read moreShow less

Jalen Duren left that game midway through the second quarter with a right hamstring strain and did not return, and Reed started the second half in his place. Detroit announced on Sunday that Duren will be re-evaluated in two weeks, around November 8, with no return date set. Reed is the direct beneficiary for that whole window. Add him now.

Wire
Darius Acuff Jr., Kings
Guard, rookie scorer with the ball in his hands

Acuff scored 33 points with 4 assists in 36 minutes in Sacramento's 128-120 loss to Portland on Friday, his second career game.

Read moreShow less

He shot 10 of 26 and went 11 of 12 from the line, and he scored 11 in the fourth as Sacramento cut a double digit deficit to three. The efficiency is still rough after a 5 of 24 debut, but a rookie trusted for 36 minutes who keeps attacking is not a wire afterthought. Add him in deeper leagues and watch the shot selection, not the points.

Wire
Ty Jerome, Grizzlies
Guard, starting point guard in Memphis

Jerome scored a career high 45 points with 7 rebounds and 6 assists in Memphis's 123-103 win over Utah on Wednesday.

Read moreShow less

He shot 17 of 25 with 5 threes and broke the Grizzlies opener record of 44 that Ja Morant held. Jerome stepped into the starting point guard role after Morant was traded to Portland in the offseason, so this is a role line and not a hot hand. He followed it with 28 points at Golden State on Friday, which is why the add window is already closing.

Wire
Dyson Daniels, Hawks
Guard and forward, steals specialist

Daniels had 11 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals and 4 assists in Atlanta's record 128-81 rout of Charlotte on Friday.

Read moreShow less

Seven steals was one short of his career high and he did it in his first 18 minutes, and Atlanta's 47 point margin was a franchise record. Guards who rack defensive counting stats do not need 25 points to matter, and Daniels already has 12 steals in his first two games. Add him for steals and let the rest of the line ride.

Wire
Ajay Mitchell, Thunder
Guard, defensive minutes on a contender

Mitchell had 12 points and 5 steals in 24 minutes in Oklahoma City's 96-84 win over Denver on Thursday.

Read moreShow less

Five steals was the team high on a night Denver turned it over 22 times, and Mitchell played real minutes in a real rotation on a contender that defends for a living. He is not a starter and he will not score 25, so do not add him for points. Add him for steals, with a block thrown in on Thursday, and let the quiet categories do the work.

Wire
Kel'el Ware, Bucks
Center, bench big with starter minutes in reach

Ware had 19 points, 13 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks in 29 minutes off the bench in Milwaukee's 127-116 loss at Philadelphia on Saturday.

Read moreShow less

He shot 6 of 11 with 2 threes and 5 of 5 from the line for his first double-double of the season, while starting center Myles Turner went scoreless in 20 minutes and sat the fourth quarter. Ware was already a sleeper on this page for his per minute production, and Saturday was that production showing up in a real rotation. Add him before Milwaukee has to answer the center question for him.

Streaming corner: the steals are the cheat code this week. Daniels posted 7 steals against Charlotte and Mitchell posted 5 against Denver, and both did it in real rotations on winning teams. Pair a steals add with a center opening, Reed in Detroit or Ware in Milwaukee, and you cover two scarce categories in one waiver run.

Fantasy x Betting: The Nus Edge

Here is what nobody else does. When a player's role grows, the prop market is always late. The same research that tells you Payton Pritchard is underpriced at pick 80 tells you his points and assists props are underpriced in November. Fantasy finds the role change first. Betting cashes it. This page and the Nus Board are reading the same tea leaves.

2026-27 Draft Kit: Sleepers to Target

Your league mates are drafting off last year's roles. These guys have new roles.

Sleeper
Payton Pritchard, Celtics
ADP around 80

Boston traded Jaylen Brown for Paul George, and George cannot stay on the floor.

Read moreShow less

Pritchard started 50 games last year and put up 16.9 points, 5.3 assists and 4.3 boards as a starter, with a 28.2 percent usage rate when Brown sat. He could lead this team in scoring behind Tatum. At pick 80 that is theft.

Sleeper
Kel'el Ware, Bucks
Late-round big

Giannis is in Miami now and the frontcourt minutes got real.

Read moreShow less

Ware averaged 11.1 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in just 22 minutes last year, and in the 10 games he cracked 30 minutes he went for 18.1, 14 and 3.3 blocks. He is expected to play around 25 a night. Blocks plus threes from a center wins categories. Week one backed it up: Ware posted 19 points and 13 rebounds off the bench at Philadelphia on October 24 while Myles Turner went scoreless in 20 minutes.

Sleeper
Cason Wallace, Thunder
ADP around 118

Dort, Wiggins and Joe are gone, and their minutes landed on Wallace.

Read moreShow less

He is projected for 2.0 steals a game with 37.4 percent shooting from three. Steals are the scarcest category in fantasy. You are welcome.

Sleeper
Matas Buzelis, Bulls
ESPN ADP 91

The per-minute production already screams top-50, the minutes are coming, and drafters are still pricing the rookie version of him.

Read moreShow less

That gap closes fast once the season starts.

Sleeper
Reed Sheppard, Rockets
Breakout watch

Rising usage in Houston with elite shooting.

Read moreShow less

High floor, real breakout path. Same story for Amen Thompson, whose two-way game and minute bump could return top-70 value at a mid-round cost.

Busts: Do Not Draft These Guys at Cost

Bust
Joel Embiid, 76ers

When he plays he is dominant.

Read moreShow less

He does not play. Nineteen games two seasons ago, chronic knee issues, load management at 32. His draft cost assumes a version of Embiid that no longer exists on a schedule you can trust. Week one pushed back hard: Embiid posted 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists on October 24 and Philadelphia is 3-0, but he is set to rest Sunday in the second night of a back-to-back, so the availability case is still the bet.

Bust
Zion Williamson, Pelicans

Elite per-game numbers, zero reliability, on a tanking team that will shut him down the minute the season goes sideways.

Read moreShow less

Do not pay a high ADP for a part-time player.

Bust
AJ Dybantsa, Rookie
ADP 88

The top rookie with real scoring punch, and a fine dynasty stash.

Read moreShow less

In a one-year redraft at 88? Let someone else fall in love. Take the third or fourth rookie later instead.

Rookies and Sophomores

Cooper Flagg is the headliner of year two. He put up 21 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals as a rookie, won Rookie of the Year, and became the first rookie since Michael Jordan in 1985 to lead his team in all four categories. The projection now is top-20 with a jump toward 23 a night and 2 steals. Draft him like the multi-category anchor he is.

Behind him: Kon Knueppel in Charlotte and VJ Edgecombe in Philadelphia have real roles and real fantasy value right now, and Dylan Harper in San Antonio is the discount if your league sleeps on him. Among the bigs, Derik Queen and Maxime Raynaud are the undervalued names, but one flag on Raynaud since last week: he suffered a patellar subluxation and is out at least two weeks, with reevaluation on Oct 25, so he misses the start of the season. The talent did not change, but slide him down a few rounds and let someone else pay for October. One more injury note at center: Philadelphia lost backup Ariel Hukporti for the season to a ruptured right Achilles, and Adem Bona is expected to be the primary backup behind Joel Embiid once his foot sprain heals. Bona is a deep league stash only until he is back in team workouts. Week one added three more names to watch. Cameron Boozer posted 25 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists in Memphis's comeback win at Golden State on October 23, Darius Acuff Jr. scored 33 points in his second career game for Sacramento the same night, and VJ Edgecombe followed his 11 point, 7 rebound, 6 assist night against Cleveland with 17 points and 13 rebounds against Milwaukee on October 24.
