Role
Morant starts at point guard as Portland's new franchise centerpiece. Injuries limited him to 20 games in Memphis in 2025-26, but his 19.5 points and 8.1 assists still flashed the downhill explosiveness that made him a two-time All-Star. The Blazers are betting a healthy Morant raises their ceiling immediately.
How he got here
Memphis drafted Morant second overall in 2019 out of Murray State. Portland acquired him via trade in the summer of 2026. He is under contract through 2028 before unrestricted free agency.
