Everyone remembers the last two games: 9-3 and 9-5, Cleveland's bats finally awake. The market remembers too, and that is exactly why the value sits on the other side. Game 5 gives us the two best arms of the series, Sean Burke and Gavin Williams, both pitching on the biggest stage of their lives with their seasons on the line. This is the lowest-scoring kind of game baseball produces.

Start with what these two already did to these lineups. Burke has 14 strikeouts against one walk in 9.1 postseason innings, a 0.64 WHIP, and he beat Cleveland in Game 2 with 5.1 innings of one-hit ball. Williams struck out 11 in Game 2, owns a 3.00 ERA this postseason, and his 18-pitch Game 4 closeout was basically a live bullpen session. Game 1 of this series finished 3-0. Game 2 landed on 7. The high-scoring games came against taxed middle relief, not against either of tonight's starters.

Then there is the Game 5 effect. Winner-take-all baseball tightens everything: managers go to the bullpen at the first sign of trouble, hitters press, and one run feels like three. Both managers have already shown quick hooks this series. Cleveland used eight pitchers in Game 4, and Chicago's Will Venable has not been afraid to pull starters early. With fresh high-leverage arms on both sides behind two strikeout pitchers, runs will be brutally hard to come by after the sixth inning.

At plus money, the number does not need much. Under 7 at +100 means six or fewer runs cashes at even money while a seven-run game pushes. Two of the four games in this series finished at seven or below, and both of those featured at least one of tonight's starters. The bats had their fun in Chicago. Tonight belongs to the arms.

Betting angle

Under 7 (+100). The board's play. Two legitimate aces, a 3-0 Game 1 already in the books, quick hooks on both sides, and winner-take-all tension that squeezes scoring. At plus money, you are getting paid to bet on the most likely script.

Guardians ML (-137). The board's other play, broken down in full on its own page. Williams is the best arm on the mound, Cleveland's bats are hot, and the price is fair. The under and the home favorite are natural partners.

First five innings under. On the board's radar at the window. Burke and Williams should both be sharp early before the bullpens take over, and the first trip through these lineups is where the strikeouts pile up. Shop the number at your book.
