Illustration of a glowing parlay ticket over night baseball and football stadiums

Every longshot needs a story, and this one tells itself. Saturday night, the best pitcher in the building takes the mound in a winner-take-all game with his team surging. Sunday afternoon, the rested home team gets a jet-lagged dog that has not won in its building since 2008. The ticket is built from the day's three board picks plus one alternate line, and every leg points the same direction: pitching, defense and rest.

This is the day's lottery ticket, not the rent money. The straight picks on the board are the core plays. The parlay is what you sprinkle when the board's best reads line up on the same side of the same stories. Four legs, all DraftKings prices, all verified this morning.

Leg 1: Guardians ML (-137)

The pick: Cleveland moneyline, -137. Why it is realistic: Gavin Williams struck out 11 in Game 2, closed Game 4 on a side-day tune-up, and faces a White Sox lineup he has already handled. Cleveland has outscored Chicago 18-8 over the last two games, Jose Ramirez is the best player in the series, and the Guardians are at home with the better starter in a one-game season. This is the anchor leg for a reason.

Leg 2: White Sox at Guardians Under 7 (+100)

The pick: Under 7 runs, +100. Why it is realistic: Sean Burke owns a 0.64 WHIP and 14 strikeouts this postseason, Williams owns a 3.00 ERA with 11 Ks in his last start, and Game 1 of this series finished 3-0. Both managers have shown quick hooks, both bullpens are loaded behind the starters, and winner-take-all baseball squeezes scoring. At plus money, the under is the most likely script getting paid.

Leg 3: Steelers -3 (-102)

The pick: Pittsburgh -3, -102. Why it is realistic: The Colts flew home from London with no bye into a stadium they have not won in since 2008, while Pittsburgh had ten days to prepare. Aaron Rodgers is functional, Daniel Jones is not scaring anyone, and the Steelers are 7-3 against the spread in the last ten meetings. Three points for the rested home team against a travel-wrecked dog is the cheapest leg on the ticket.

Leg 4: Guardians -1.5 (+158)

The pick: Cleveland -1.5, +158. Why it is realistic: This is the juice leg, the one that turns a nice ticket into a real payout. Two of Cleveland's three wins this series came by six and four runs. If Williams deals the way he did in Game 2 and the bats stay warm, 5-2 or 6-3 is exactly how this ends. Plus money on the same story the first two legs already tell.
