Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles host the high-powered Rams on Sunday.

Sunday's slate has three games that actually tell us something. A test for the Rams' offense in Philadelphia, a get-right spot for Green Bay in Tampa and a battle of unbeatens in Las Vegas. Here is where my attention is.

Rams at Eagles

The Rams can move the ball, but they keep getting in their own way. Turnovers and penalties have wasted good drives, and now they walk into Lincoln Financial Field to face a 2-1 Eagles team that feeds off exactly those mistakes. Jalen Hurts does not need to be spectacular here. He needs the Rams to keep beating themselves.

Philadelphia at home, with its crowd and its pass rush, is the wrong place to try to clean things up on the fly. If Los Angeles plays a clean game, it has the firepower to hang. That is a big if.

Packers at Buccaneers

Both teams come in needing it. Green Bay sits at 1-2 and Tampa Bay is still looking for its first win at 0-3, which makes this an early-season desperation game neither side can afford to drop.

Jordan Love's quick timing game is built for exactly this spot, attacking underneath and staying ahead of the chains. For Tampa, the path is keeping it close into the fourth quarter at home and letting the crowd do the rest. Somebody's season gets a pulse on Sunday. Somebody else's gets a lot darker.

Chiefs at Raiders

This is the game of the week and it is not close. Both teams are 3-0, and Allegiant Stadium hosts the rivalry's biggest game in years on Sunday afternoon.

The Raiders want to prove the fast start is real. The Chiefs want to remind everyone that the road to the AFC still runs through Kansas City. Expect emotion early and execution late, which usually favors the team that has been there before.

Sunday, in context

  • Rams discipline vs. Eagles opportunism. Los Angeles moves the ball but keeps shooting itself in the foot. Philadelphia at home is the wrong place for sloppiness.
  • Desperation in Tampa. The 0-3 Buccaneers host the 1-2 Packers. Somebody's season gets a pulse on Sunday.
  • Battle of unbeatens. The 3-0 Chiefs visit the 3-0 Raiders in the rivalry's biggest game in years.
  • Sharp money note. Bet situations, not brands. The market prices reputation; it discounts desperation and home-field emotion.

The betting angle

Three games, one theme: do not pay full price for reputation. The Rams' yardage is empty until the turnovers stop, and Philadelphia at home is the wrong spot to trust a sloppy team. In Tampa, desperation cuts both ways, so the situational edge matters more than the brand names. And in Las Vegas, everyone will pick the Chiefs, which is exactly why the home underdog getting points is the only side that makes sense. Bet situations, not brands.
