Eagles Trade Two-Time Pro Bowl Center Cam Jurgens to Ravens
The Philadelphia Eagles are trading two-time Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It is a stunning fall for a player the Eagles handed a four-year, $68 million extension just last April. But the 2026 season has been a disaster for Jurgens. After Landon Dickerson landed on injured reserve, Philadelphia slid Jurgens from center to left guard, and the results were ugly: Pro Football Focus ranks him 73rd out of 74 qualified guards this season, dead last among guards with at least 100 snaps, with a team-high 12 pressures allowed.
Just two days ago, head coach Nick Sirianni insisted there were no plans to bench him. "No, I'm pleased with where Cam is," Sirianni said Monday, via NBC Sports Philadelphia. Forty-eight hours later, Jurgens is a Raven.
For Baltimore, the move is pure desperation, and Jurgens might be exactly the answer. The Ravens lost Tyler Linderbaum to the Raiders in free agency, then lost their next three centers to injury: Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic, per Schefter. Enter Cam Jurgens, a natural center who gets to go back to his real position after the failed guard experiment in Philadelphia.
The contract makes it even sweeter for Baltimore. At 27, Jurgens is under contract for the next four years with a salary-cap figure of just $1 million this season and $4 million next season, per Schefter. That is backup money for a two-time Pro Bowler.
The one catch: Jurgens is currently in concussion protocol and is not expected to make his Ravens debut Sunday. He is expected to debut in two weeks against the Browns, per Schefter.
The Eagles, meanwhile, clear a path for Drew Kendall at center and turn a bad contract situation into a future second-round pick. After two straight losses and an offense that went 0-for-12 on third down against the Rams, Howie Roseman is clearly not waiting around. The Eagles are now loaded up in 2028, holding two first-round picks (theirs and the Patriots') and two second-round picks (theirs and the Ravens'), per Schefter.
